The Confined Connection series explores the struggle of connecting to culture in todays world, and the sense of confinement that can come with trying to find it within a society that is turning its back on nature.
It reflects the tension between distance and belonging, where cultural connection can feel harder to access, yet never fully disappears.
Beneath the surface, connection is always present. Carried through memory, Country, and identity. It exists quietly, waiting to be seen again.
Through contemporary Aboriginal painting techniques, each work in the series expresses this idea through a intricate and distinct lifework to create a simple yet complex shifting between restriction and flow.
Confined Connection is about awareness that culture is never lost, only sometimes harder to see. It remains present, just beneath the surface, waiting to be found.
